Mail Preference Service (MPS) Suppression
The Mailing Preference Service (MPS) allows consumers to register their address to say that they do not wish to receive postal direct mail offers from companies with whom they have no existing business relationship.
W8Data will compare your database with the MPS Suppression File so that you can ensure you only use appropriate methods of communication to such individuals.
Where you have already built up a communication with the individual and it is reasonable to assume that they would not mind you continuing to contact them, then you may continue to do so even if the individual is on the MPS Register, however should they request that you stop mailing them, you must do so immediately.

Telephone Preference Service (TPS) Suppression
Many people at home object to receiving telephone calls from companies they do not know. By registering on the TPS (Telephone Preference Service), all such calls should be eliminated. This is called TPS Suppression.
It is illegal to call a domestic telephone number of someone who is on the TPS Register unless they have specifically requested that you do so, or where the nature of a pre-existing business relationship makes such communication clearly acceptable (for example, someone booking an appointment and providing their telephone number could expect to be called if there was a problem with the appointment).
Companies can also register their details on the Corporate Telephone Preference Service (CTPS) which prohibits the making of any telephone calls other than basic research communications to that telephone number.

Fax Preference Service
Companies and individuals can register on the FPS (Fax Preference Service) not to receive any Fax communications. It is illegal to send faxes to these numbers without a specific prior agreement.
W8Data will carry out FPS Suppression by comparing your database with the FPS file and flagging all records where the individual or company has signed up.
It is also illegal to send faxes to any consumer addresses or non-limited partnerships without their specific agreement to receive such communications.
